Terence Ketter received his medical degree from the University of Toronto, completed internship and residency training at the University of California San Francisco, and fellowship training in psychopharmacology and brain imaging and at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda.
He is Chief of the Stanford University Bipolar Disorders Clinic and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Dr. Ketter’s research interests include the use of brain imaging methods such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and positron emission tomography (PET) to better understand the neurobiology of mood disorders and to explore the possibility of using these techniques to more effectively target treatments for patients with bipolar disorders.
He has published over 300 scientific articles and book chapters and is the editor of the books “Advances in the Treatment of Bipolar Disorder” and “Handbook of Diagnosis and Treatment of Bipolar Disorder”.
